About me ...

My background: I am of inveterate habit born in a hunters home. It all started at the age of seven with rabbit hunting with .22 calibre. First roe buck was taken at 10 years age, at 14 I hunted my first wild boar in Poland and the stone was rolling. I began to track wounded game at 17 years, with a wachtel dog. Then it became wire haired pointers, a breed I will stay with for the rest of my life. Wild boars entered our hunting grounds in the mid 80s, changing very much our ways of hunting. I felt a need for new breed, it became a West Siberian laika from Estonia, then I was set for these fascinating dogs and more laikas was imported from Russia. Hannoverian tracking hound was a natural step in my quest to develop my skills in tracking for wounded game. I like new challenges and hunting with hounds so I imported some plotthounds from the United States, because next on the agenda was bear hunting.. I enjoy all kind of hunting like stalking, game calling, driven hunts, ect, but the dogs and hounds add a very important dimension to my hunting, which I can not do without. So my life is a lot about hunting with man´s best friend.

My Vision ...
I got a unique chance to be one of the first in the Sweden to learn about the wild boar. I like to write so it became a book about this fascinating game. In the prior I had written down my experiences on tracking wounded game like deer and wild boar. As time went by I noticed that the price of camera equipment and film editing came down to a level where it was possible to make hunting movies. An old dream became true – I made my first hunting dvd in 2002 – and this is what I will continue to keep on doing - as long as anyone wants to see my films. Hunting films at it worse are hunting porno – some thing I do not want to be part of. I like to make films which are not only exciting and captivating but also teaching and with the hunting etics of Scandinavia and Central Europe – which means respect for our fantastic game.

Do you have an idea for a film or other comments so please let me know - mikael@jaktwebben.com
